THE SCHOOL

London Youth Conservatoire, founded in 2008, is one of the largest and most successful non-selective music schools in London with over 370 students and over 30 teachers.

Based in Parsons Green (Fulham), we offer a comprehensive music education from beginner to Grade 8 and beyond. The school welcomes students from 4 to 18 and adults. Most of our classes take place on Saturdays with a few instrument lessons taking place during the week.

We provide individual instrumental lessons; musicianship and theory classes; and several orchestras, ensembles, jazz groups and choirs. The school teaches a proven curriculum using both the Kodaly method and traditional theory and has a long-standing experience in preparing students for ABRSM and Trinity exams. Our students also benefit from plenty of opportunities to perform individually or part of a group.

London Youth Conservatoire is a registered charity committed to sharing the joy of music and the benefits of music education through its Impact Programme by offering financial support to some students, educational initiatives in local schools and by taking music out into the community.

eTHOS

The ethos of the school is to provide a rounded music education beyond the individual instrumental lesson. London Youth Conservatoire offers a holistic approach including one-to-one instrumental lesson, group playing and musicianship classes with a specialised music curriculum and multiple opportunities to perform.

Our students are not only instrumentalists, they are also team-players, leaders, communicators, mentors, performers.

Most importantly, our students have fun learning and making music with their friends!

OUR ORGANISATION

London Youth Conservatoire is managed by our outstanding management team led by our Head of School, Audrey Milheres and supported by our Deputy Head, Guillaume Mathias, and our Administration Manager, Chloée Andorin.

As a charity London Youth Conservatoire is run by a Board of Trustees, all volunteers, who have responsibility for safeguarding the school’s charitable mission which includes our bursary programme and outreach work in the community.

However their role goes well beyond this.  Trustees meet regularly to work on the running of the school, be it corporate governance issues, policies, fundraising, community relations or future strategy.

The Trustees are parents of current or former students at the school and are therefore uniquely placed to understand parent expectations whilst knowing the complexity of the school operation.

All team members in contact with children are DBS checked.

A BRIEF HISTORY

London Youth Conservatoire (formerly Music’all) was founded in 2008 by Eleanor Carton de Wiart and Raphaelle Poujol who were looking for a complete music education in London for all levels from beginners to experienced.

The school, now managed by a Board of Trustees, moved to its current location in Lady Margaret school, Parsons Green, Fulham in 2011.

Today, London Youth Conservatoire is one of the largest and most successful music schools in London.
